Staten Island Music School Teachers

Mr. Frank J. Busso, the director of the school, has been teaching for over 40 years. He has been President, Vice President and Treasurer of the American Accordionists’ Association. He currently serves on its Board of Directors. He possesses a master’s degree and currently teaches in the parochial school system on Staten Island.

The rest of the highly qualified faculty members have either bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees or are currently studying towards a degree.

Accordion instruction is one of the specialties of SIMS. In addition to the private weekly lesson, students participate in band training. These bands participate in various competitions and festivals, having labeled the Staten Island Music School as one of the finest in the country.

Our students have participated in numerous state, regional and national competitions and festivals and have won hundreds of trophies, medals and certificates. Our students participate in the Tri-State Music Festival in the spring and a National Festival in July.
